What is a ministry moment?
A ministry moment is an opportunity to put our faith into action by helping, serving, encouraging, or showing God’s love to someone else.
The important idea is that ministry isn’t limited to pastors or church leaders. Every Christian can have ministry moments wherever they are—at school, at home, at work, at church, at play, or in the community. All activities are lay led and everyone is welcome.
We gather together to particiate in activities, have fellowship with those we don’t get to see every day, and share in our faith journey. Some our activities inlcude:
3F Basketball on Tuesday Nights.
If you like to play and have fun, 3F (Faith, Fun, Fellowship) basketball could be just want you are looking for. Every Tuesday, we gather together to shoot a few hoops and have fellowship. We meet in the gym (upstairs) in the Epworth building from 5:30 p.m. till 7:30 p.m.
Harmony Trail Walk on Saturday Mornings
If you like to walk outdoors, we have a ministry monent for you! On Saturday morning, we gather to walk on the Harmony Trail in Shelby, NC. We meet at the start of the trail at 8:30 a.m. and walk till 9:00 a.m. Some participants continue the walk and then enjoy the Foothills Farmers Market (just across the street from the trail head).
NOTE: this activity occurs an Saturday during Spring, Summer, and Fall (weather permitting).
Knit Wits on Tuesday Late Afternoons
A welcoming church group where members gather to knit, crochet, and enjoy fellowship while creating handmade items. Through their creativity and time together, Knit Wits provides opportunities to build friendships and share God’s love with others in the community. All are welcome, experienced knitters/crocheters, beginners, or those who just want to enjoy the fellowship. We meet in Room 301 (upstairs) in the Epworth building from 4:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month.
Palette Pals on Tuesday Early Afternoon
Palette Pals is a welcoming church activity where participants gather to explore their creativity through painting, drawing, and other art media. It provides a relaxed opportunity to enjoy fellowship, develop artistic skills, and connect with others in the church community. All are welcome, experienced artists, beginners, or those who want to hang out with the “cool kids”. We meet in Room 315 (downstairs) in the Epworth building from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m on every Tuesday of the month.
